The incidence of Clostridium difficile infection (CDI) has been growing steadily in the past few decades, primarily because of the increase in susceptible populations and the emergence of hypervirulent strains and symptomatic colonization.
This debate and self-study program, moderated by Ciarán P. Kelly, MD, with Professors Ferric C. Fang, MD, and Mark H. Wilcox, MD, will identify new developments and discoveries with C. difficile, review current guidelines for diagnosis and prevention, assess CDI testing methodologies and current controversies, and apply findings to determine the appropriate protocol and testing algorithms for CDI for one’s institution.
